Those who know me well will be aware that I have followed the Barred Owls of Vancouver's Stanley Park for over a decade.
This nest was high in an ancient cedar, used for many years until one of the adults presumably died.
To get this "close" a Sigma 300-800mm at 800mm on a Canon 7D (APS-C) body was used (then cropped).
