Wild Birds
Another year, another calendar. Nothing much changed this year, same old format. It’s back to being all birds – the usual Barred Owls – always entertaining. Great excitement to find a Hummingbird nest.
Well, the original information on this year's back page was sparse, to say the least!
The Long-tailed Tit and Turnstone (known as Ruddy Turnstone in North America) photos were taken on a trip to the UK, but all the rest were taken around the Vancouver area, including two Barred Owl nest sites in Stanley Park. The thrush was originally tagged as a Hermit but is probably a Swainson's.
Some recovery work was done on the cover page here (Owls on a 800mm cropped image with fill flash). More such work still needed for June!
