Wildlife
For this year’s calendar we see the return of the Sandhill Cranes, a Pileated Woodpecker, River Otters and a Beaver. Appearing for the first time we have a Northern Harrier - female for October and a male on the back cover. Yellow-headed Blackbird, MacGillivray’s Warbler, American Bittern and Night Heron are also first time participants. Then there were the owls – two new species and one other with first time young (first for me not the owls), but the Barred Owls in Stanley Park apparently raised no young.
